Tam Sports App — Privacy Policy

Tam Sports ("the App") is operated by Tam High Boosters in support of Tamalpais High School athletics. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Information We Collect

Device Information: When you enable push notifications, we store an anonymous device token (Expo Push Token) to deliver notifications. This token does not identify you personally.

Favorites: Your favorite team selections are stored locally on your device. If you enable push notifications, your favorites are also sent to our server so we can deliver relevant game alerts.

Notification Preferences: Your notification settings (announcements, game start, game results) are stored locally on your device and synced to our server alongside your device token.

User-Submitted Content: When you submit scores, photos, highlights, or media through the App, we collect the content you provide along with your name if you choose to include it. Submissions are reviewed by an administrator before being published.

Photos: Photos you submit are uploaded to our secure cloud storage (Supabase) and may be displayed publicly in the App after admin approval.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not require account creation or login for regular users.
• We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifiers from App users.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not sell or share data with third-party advertisers.
• We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs in the App.

How We Use Information

• Device tokens are used solely to send push notifications you have opted into.
• Favorite team data is used to personalize your notification experience (game start reminders and score alerts).
• Submitted content (scores, photos, highlights) is used to enrich game information for all App users.

Data Storage

Data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS in the United States). Device tokens and submitted content are retained as long as the App is in operation. You can remove your device token by deleting the App from your device.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following services to provide content:

• Expo (Push Notifications): Used to deliver push notifications via Apple Push Notification service (APNs).
• YouTube (TamTV): Game broadcasts are embedded from the TamTV YouTube channel.
• GameChanger: Live scores for select teams are retrieved from GameChanger's public API.
• CIF North Coast Section: Schedule data is sourced from the CIF NCS calendar.
• Google News & Marin Independent Journal: News articles are aggregated from public RSS feeds.

These services have their own privacy policies. We do not share your personal data with them.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App is designed for use by students, parents, and fans of Tamalpais High School athletics. No account creation or personal data submission is required to use the App.

Your Choices

• Push Notifications: You can enable or disable notifications in the App's Settings screen or in your device's system settings.
• Favorites: You can add or remove favorite teams at any time.
• Delete Data: Deleting the App removes all local data and your device token from our server.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
